SAN FRANCISCO – Alvaro Quiros made an ace Wednesday on The Olympic Club’s par-4, 288-yard seventh hole. It was his first ace on a par 4.

In video below you can see the ball roll into the hole while a man standing on the green threw his arms up in the air in celebration. The camera panned back to Quiros, who was playing with fellow Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, and it was clear that neither actually saw the ball roll into the hole. It took a few moments before they realized the result.

“It was a very nice shot,” Quiros said. “Especially because I was playing a match against Gonzalo, and I beat him thanks to this shot, so that’s the most important thing.”

“Unfortunately, it was in a practice round. But it is a good sign, isn’t it?”
