Get in the water! Land in the bunker!
A day after becoming an RBC Canadian Open headliner in Toronto, Wyndham Clark received a wrath of boos and jeers from the local faithful unlike any player has heard in this event.
The heckling was in response to the 2023 U.S. Open winner donning a Jack Hughes Team USA hockey sweater during his third round Saturday. Clark, who shot a 63 on Moving Day, played alongside eventual winner Bud Cauley and Jackson Suber during Sunday’s final round and finished T-11 in the tournament.
It was Cauley’s first win on Tour in 239 starts. As for his final-round competitor, here’s a sampling of the noise that Clark — and by extension Cauley and Suber— faced at a rain-soaked Osprey Valley.
Wyndham is the most hated man in Canada right now 😂

Despite the heightened noise at No. 14, dubbed “the Rink,” Clark birdied the par-3 hole just like he did a day prior.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing though for Clark, who shot 30 under to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson three weeks ago. The 32-year-old made three bogeys on his front nine on his way to a closing 70.
A bogey on the par-5 18th cost him a third consecutive top 10. He finished solo third atthe Memorial Tournament after shooting 68-67 on the weekend.
“I know the weather’s going to be tough, so it’s going to be a grind,” he said after his bogey-free third round in Canada.
Clark, who didn’t speak to reporters Sunday, added that he had been staying at a nearby trout club and was fly fishing in his down time.
“It’s been an amazing stay, they have really treated us well,” he said.
