Matt Fitzpatrick tied with Robert MacIntyre, Min Woo Lee as final round begins in Scotland

Matt Fitzpatrick capped his third round by canning a 30-footer for birdie to tie the Genesis Scottish Open lead as he prepares for a quick turnaround Sunday in North Berwick.

Fitzpatrick only completed eight holes when play was suspended for darkness on Saturday night, the result of a lengthy fog delay earlier in the day. He resumed action early Sunday morning as the co-leader with Michael Thorbjornsen and among 15 players within three shots of each other, rattling off nine straight pars before polishing off a 4-under 66 and earning his spot in the final group at 12 under.

Joining Fitzpatrick in Sunday afternoon’s final group are two former Scottish champions, Robert MacIntyre (65) and Min Woo Lee (66), who won in 2024 and 2021, respectively. That trio will begin their final rounds at 9:50 a.m. ET Sunday. Golf Channel coverage begins at 10 a.m.

Thorbjornsen (65) is another shot back at 11 under along with Chris Gotterup and Tom Kim, followed by Wyndham Clark, Johnny Keefer, Keita Nakajima and Kevin Roy at 10 under.

Rory McIlroy, like Fitzpatrick, birdied the last, but his four front-nine bogeys led to a third-round 73 that knocked McIlroy from contention.

Fitzpatrick is chasing his fourth PGA Tour victory of the season after winning the Valspar Championship, RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic earlier this year.

Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre polished off a third-round 65 Sunday to grab a share of the 54-hole lead in the Genesis Scottish Open.
