The professional debut of Peter Uihlein did not go as the 2010 U.S. Amateur champion would have hoped.
In a European Challenge Tour event in India, Uihlein began his pro career with 4-over 76 in the first round of the Gujarat Kensville Challenge. Uihlein trails Rahil Gangjee by eight strokes heading into the second round and is T-77 in the 114-man field.
The round was fairly quiet for the Oklahoma State product, aside from a triple-bogey-7 at the par-4 third hole at Kensville G&CC.
“Well not the start I wanted but grinded it out without having any game. Gonna be better tomorrow #patience,” Uihlein tweeted.
