Pak Withdraws From LPGA Event in Tucson

Se Ri Pak withdrew from this week's Welch's/Circle K Championship due to a sprained right wrist. The 24-year-old from South Korea hopes to be healed in time for next week's Kraft Nabisco Championship in California, the first major of the 2002 LPGA season.
Pak injured her wrist during last Monday's practice round for the PING Banner Health tournament in Phoenix. She played all four days of the event, posting rounds of 74-69-77-69 to finish tied for 18th place at 1-over-par 289.
Pak won both the LPGA Championship and U.S. Women's Open in her rookie year of 1998. She captured the Women's British Open title during her five-win 2001 campaign, and needs only to win the Kraft Nabisco Championship to become the sixth player in LPGA history to complete the career Grand Slam.
