The Lotte Championship is moving to Maui’s Kapalua Resort in 2027, the LPGA announced Monday.
The Plantation Course will host the event, March 18-21, one week after the inaugural Nanea Cup, which features LPGA and collegiate players, on the Big Island. The Hawaii swing will follow the tour’s first Asia swing.
“We are thrilled to have Kapalua Resort and The Plantation Course serve as the venue for the Lotte Championship in 2027,” said LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler in a release. “As we continue to strengthen the LPGA Tour schedule, venues with deep-rooted heritage like Kapalua are exactly what we look for. This new chapter would not be possible without the support and commitment to the Tour that Lotte and Kapalua provided. We want to thank Hoakalei Country Club for the last five years and look forward to building on the success of the Lotte Championship at its new home in Maui.”
Kapalua hosted the PGA Tour’s tournament of champions, last known as The Sentry, from 1999-2025. Following devastating wildfires in Maui in 2023, ongoing water restrictions and disputes (along with a desire to restructure its schedule) led the Tour to end the tournament ahead of the ’26 season.
The Lotte Championship has been on the LPGA’s schedule since 2012. Jeeno Thitikul won the most recent edition on Sunday at Hoakalei.
