Time running out for British Open hopefuls

Among other windfalls, Fredrik Jacobson’s victory on Sunday at the Travelers Championship secured him a spot in the field at next month’s British Open via a mini-money list that runs through this week’s AT&T National.

Jacobson moved atop the list – a five-event total that began at The Players Championship – with $1.26 million, about $200,000 clear of No. 2 Harrison Frazar. Paul Goydos is third on the list but would need a runner-up finish to earn enough to unseat either Jacobson or Frazar.

Players can also earn a trip to Royal St. George’s with a top-5 finish this week at Aronimink Golf Club or next week at the John Deere Classic.
