Davis Love III is not in the field for next week’s Wells Fargo Championship. The 49-year-old had hoped to return to the PGA Tour in Charlotte, N.C., where he was born, following neck surgery in February.

Love played a practice round with his brother, Mark, and Zack Johnson at Sea Island (Ga.) Resort on Friday and decided to delay his return another week.

According to Love’s manager with Crown Sports, Love still hopes to play next week’s Players Championship, which he has won twice
