Rory McIlroy is once again No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Helped by not playing last week, McIlroy overtook Luke Donald for the top spot by .12 points. Donald had to finish inside the top 8 at the RBC Heritage to maintain his position, but tied for 37th.
The top 10 is largely unchanged otherwise, with Martin Kaymer and Steve Stricker swapping positions. The German, who finished T-7 in the Malaysian Open, is now sixth with Stricker at seventh. Tiger Woods remains eighth, ahead of Phil Mickelson by .15 points.
Louis Oosthuizen gained seven spots with his Masters bounce-back win in Malaysia, landing this week at 12th. Stephen Gallacher improved 28 places with his runner-up finish in the event.
Carl Pettersson won for the fifth time on the PGA Tour on Sunday, taking the Heritage by five shots. The win bumped him up 33 spots to 35th in the ranking.
Runner-up Zach Johnson gained 16 places to come in at 29th. With his best PGA Tour finish in solo third at Harbour Town, Colt Knost went up 160 places to 206th.
Aussie Brendan Jones shot a final-round 62 to win the Japan season opener in the Token Homemate Cup, moving up to 86th from 118th.
