Masters 2026 cut line: How is it determined at Augusta National

Like most professional golf events, there is a cut made to reduce the field after 36 holes of the Masters Tournament.

The Masters has a limited field, related to the number of invitations it offers, and this year’s tournament began with 91 players.

After two rounds, the top 50 players and ties qualified for the final 36 holes at Augusta National Golf Club.

What was the cut at the Masters?

The cut line for the 2026 Masters was 4-over 148.

When did the Masters change its 36-hole cut rule?

Starting in 2020, the tournament ended its 10-shot rule, in which players within 10 strokes of the 36-hole lead made the cut, regardless of position.

Prior to 2014, the Masters would cut to the top 44 players and ties (along with the 10-shot rule).

Who missed the cut at the 2026 Masters?

The most notable name cut from the Masters this year was Bryson DeChambeau who triple bogeyed the 18th hole on Friday to miss the weekend by two shots.

Also missing the 2026 Masters cut are former champions Angel Cabrera, Zach Johnson, Vijay Singh, Mike Weir, Danny Willet, Jose Maria Olazabal, Bubba Watson and Fred Couples.

None of the amateurs made the cut for the second straight year.

2022 Open Championship winner Cameron Smith was denied the weekend along with 2025 U.S. Open champ J.J. Spaun.

Like Spaun, Akshay Bhatia and Nico Echavarria are 2026 PGA Tour winners who won’t play the final 36 holes at Augusta.
