Minutes after Lucas Herbert shot 62 Friday at The Open, Sam Burns did the same in spectacular fashion.
Sam Burns chipped in from the bunker on the 18th hole during the second round of The Open to shoot 62. He tied the men’s major lowest round record and Lucas Herbert who shot 62 earlier.
Lucas Herbert tied the men’s major championship scoring record with a 62 in the second round of The Open and said he’s excited to be leading for however long it lasts.
The 30-year-old Aussie nearly became the first player, in any major championship, to break 62 before bogeying his 36th hole and settling for the fifth 62 in major history.
