Ryan ๐ŸฆŠRECLAIMS SHARE OF THE LEAD AT THE OPEN!

Ryan Fox just reclaimed a share of the lead with Young at 9 under after 16 holes...he bogeyed the 15th and lost the lead and then birdied the 16th to get back on top!

Could Fox become the first player to win a major the same year as a kidney stone removal?!

What a finish ahead...

Ryan Fox missed The Players Championship to have kidney stones removed. As a result of the surgery, he was unable to pick up a golf club for 10 days or do any heavy lifting. Fox says heโ€™s feeling better entering Memorial Park this weekend.

Ryan Fox with the equalizer!

Fox is now tied with Cam Young for the top spot at 9 under after the 14th.

He birdied the 13th and 14th holes to grab a share of the lead ๐Ÿšฉ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The defending champ didnโ€™t repeat, but Schefflerโ€™s finish was anything but boring!
In shades of Jordan Spieth from nine years ago at Royal Birkdale, Scheffler birdied the 17th hole on Sunday after hitting his second shot into a TIO before a closing bogey ultimately ended his chance of winning the 154th Open.

Quick refresher on the playoff format for The Open:
Hereโ€™s how a playoff would play out in The Open Championship if Ryan Fox and Cameron Young are knotted at 9 under after 72 holes.

  • 2)Burns -8
    S.W. Kim -8

Major Sunday is in full force...

Hereโ€™s a look at your current Open leader:

Scottie finishes T-4 at 7 under

Scheffler pulled out all of the stops, but his Open Championship weekend has come to a close after a bogey on the final hole.

He finished in T-4 at 7 under for the week, shot 3-under 67 in the final round ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

BACK-TO-BACK BOGEYS ๐Ÿซ

S.W. Kim carded his first bogey of the day on 11 and now shares the lead at 9 under with Cam Young in the clubhouse.

Scheffler goes from ball Hunt to BIRDIE ๐Ÿคฏ

Scheffler now sits at 1 stroke back from the lead after a wild series of shots on the 17th hole.

After an errant tee shot, he then hit a risky second shot that landed him in a Temporary Immovable Obstruction area, after a free drop he chipped onto the green, setting up a miraculous birdie putt.

The world No. 1 never ceases to amaze ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Frustrations continue for Scheffler
How does that even happen?

S.W. Kim maintains 1 stroke lead ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Si Woo Kim stays on top at 10 under, clean card so far on the day!

Young: Clubhouse leader at 9 under

A poorly-timed first bogey for Cameron Young on the 18th hole sent the 2026 Players champ back down the leaderboard at the 154th Open Championship.

Young is still in the clubhouse as the tournament leader after posting a 6-under 64 (good for the low score for the day at Royal Birkdale).

He walked off the 18th green shaking his head disappointed he didnโ€™t get to 10 under. Young sits T-2 with Ryan Fox at 9 under with about a two-hour wait ahead.

Young sinks seventh Sunday birdie ๐Ÿคฉ

Cameron Young came from four strokes back to win the Players earlier this year.

And now the 2022 Open runner-up is knocking on the door of his first major title thanks to another stellar Sunday comeback.

Young is 7 under through his final round at Royal Birkdale with one hole to go. He sits tied with Si Woo Kim for the tournament co-lead.

Kim takes solo lead at 10 under ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Si Woo Kim just made a considerable step toward his first major victory with a birdie on the par-4 sixth.

He now has the solo lead at 10 under, with Young, Burns and Fox a shot back and sitting T-2.

Four-way tie atop the leaderboard after another Burns bogey

Another bogey from Sam Burns on the front nine has created a four-way tie on the leaderboard at Royal Birkdale.

Si Woo Kim and Ryan Fox are playing their front nines still and sit T-1 at 9 under.

Cameron Young has just two holes to play and is also tied at 9 under. Heโ€™s set to be in for a more than two hour wait once he signs his card and makes it into the clubhouse.

Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood are applying considerable additional pressure at 8 under.

โ€˜It was crapโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜†

Alex Fitzpatrick perfectly summarized his 7-over 77 in the final round at The Open.

โ€œIt was crap. No two ways about it,โ€ he told reporters on Sunday at Royal Birkdale. โ€œMy putting was woeful. I thought some of the pins yesterday were terrible, just brutally honest. And, yeah, mixed with me not playing very good at all, thatโ€™s what it is.โ€

Fitzpatrick said heโ€™ll play in the Wyndham Championship in August but plans to skip the 3M Open and the Rocket Classic.

โ€œWent to school nearby,โ€ said the Wake Forest grad. โ€œExcited for the event, but more excited for two weeks off.โ€

Since joining the Tour in April, the younger brother of Matt Fitzpatrick has collected five T-10 finishes.

The 27-year-old Fitzpatrick said he was frustrated but wouldnโ€™t let it carry over the rest of the season.

โ€œIโ€™ll go home, and Iโ€™ll be upset or disappointed for another hour or so, and I think it will kick in again of just how crazy this year has been,โ€ he said.

Tommy lad makes it rain ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Birdie putts are becoming suddenly contagious at Royal Birkdale.

Moments after Scottie Scheffler moved to 8 under, Tommy Fleetwood met the moment with a birdie putt of his own at the 8th hole to tie Scheffler and move within two shots of the lead.

And yes, the fans went wild for their hometown hero moved into T-5 on the leaderboard.

Scheffler moves within 2๏ธโƒฃ

The worldโ€™s top-ranked player is on the move at Royal Birkdale, making his fourth birdie on the final round to get to 8 under on the tournament.

Scheffler is now T-4 after finding the bottom of the cup at par-3 12th. He remains bogey-free on Sunday and is within two shots of the lead after Sam Burns bogeyed at No. 4.

Sunday drama builds as Burns bogeys 4th ๐ŸŽญ

Sam Burnsโ€™ lead is down to one shot after a bogey at the par-3th.

Cameron Young and Ryan Fox sit a shot back as the tension builds at Royal Birkdale.

Young catches Fox at 9 under ๐ŸฆŠ

A birdie putt at the par-5 14th came at the right time for Cameron Young who had yet to circle on his back nine.

He has four holes left and sits T-2 with Ryan Fox, one shot off Sam Burnsโ€™ lead at 10 under.

Si Woo Kim is in solo fourth, with Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood and Ryan Gerard sitting T-5 as of 10:17 a.m. ET.

Just how firm are the fairways at Birkdale ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ€

An orange 29.5" ball โ€” about five-and-a-half time wider in circumference than a golf ball โ€” made its way onto Royal Birkdaleโ€™s fairways during Sundayโ€™s final round.

Weโ€™ll let Bones show you the rest ...

Burns, Fox each birdie second hole

A pair of 3s for the final pairing at Royal Birkdaleโ€™s par-4 second has given Ryan Fox a shot advantage over Cameron Young.

The New Zealander is in solo second, still two shots off Burns.

Scheffler makes the turn after another missed birdie putt

Scottie Scheffler put together a 3-under 31 on the front nine at Royal Birkdale but his last two holes were something of a disappointment as two birdie opportunities from less than 6 feet turned into a pair of 4s.

Schefflerโ€™s birdie attempt on the par-4 ninth came up slightly right of the hole.

He sits three shots back of Sam Burnsโ€™ lead.

And heโ€™s only three back

He just missed another at the eighth to remain at 7 under.

The last pairing is on the course ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Sam Burns and Ryan Fox โ€” both of whom have shot 62 this week โ€” are in action. Burns has a two-shot lead over Fox, Si Woo Kim and Cameron Young.

The Players champ reaches 8 under, two off the lead. He had 8 feet for birdie at No. 10 to get within one, but missed left.

Heโ€™s now four off the lead.

Five straight โ€˜3โ€™s!

Cameron Young has nothing but โ€˜3โ€™s on his card through five holes in the final round. Four of those are birdies, and heโ€™s now at 7 under and three off the lead.

Rahm goes O.B. again off the first

For the second consecutive day, Rahm sliced his tee shot on the par-4 first out of bounds. His long-shot chance โ€” he began the round six back โ€” is over after one swing.
