Led by captain Geoff Ogilvy, the International team arrives at Medinah Country Club next week trying to end a U.S. winning streak that dates back more than two decades.
Six players automatically qualified at the end of August, and Ogilvy filled the rest of the roster with six captain’s picks on Sept. 1.
Making his fourth Presidents Cup appearance, Si Woo Kim headlines the International side as the only player on the 12-man team inside the top 20 of the Official World Golf Ranking.
Of the automatic qualifiers, three are major champions — Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama and Ryan Fox, with Fox’s triumph at Royal Birkdale vaulting him to No. 24 in the OWGR. The other two automatic qualifying bids went to Min Woo Lee and Tom Kim.
While Ogilvy’s captain’s picks bring a combined zero major championships to the table, Sungjae Im, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Corey Conners do carry Presidents Cup experience having played at Quail Hollow in 2022 and Royal Montreal in 2024 — both tournaments won by the Americans.
Colombia’s Nico Echavarria, Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and Canada’s Nick Taylor will make their Presidents Cup debuts.
The Presidents Cup airs on Golf Channel and NBC from Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 27. The U.S. leads the all-time series 13-1-1 and enters as the defending champion, with a team headlined by Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young and Wyndham Clark.
