Having a great short game requires a lot of practice, but it’s also predicated on an ability to control the golf ball.
The greatest players in the world have stellar short games because they can spin the ball effectively and use that spin to control distance with their wedges around the greens.
In this video segment, Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix, has a great drill to help you spin the ball better with your wedges, and the key is to not flip your hands at impact and to have your body continue to rotate through the shot.
Try this drill the next time you practice and you should be able to better control your ball when chipping and pitching.
