There has been lots of talk this week at Kapalua regarding the Tour’s new rule governing the size and shape of grooves. But some players, it seems, adapt faster than others.
Not only is Geoff Ogilvy adjusting to his new grooves on the fly, but the Australian also is having to adjust to a completely remade golf bag.
The long-time Cobra staff player switched to Titleist this year and has proven to be a quick study of his new gear.
“Generally it takes me a few weeks of practice to put (a new driver) in. I put it in on Tuesday and by three holes down, I'm happy with this, let's go,” said Ogilvy, who is alone in second place and trailing third-round leader Lucas Glover by one stroke.
