Bjorn's status in doubt for Dubai

Thomas Bjorn

A persistent neck condition may keep Thomas Bjorn out of the Dubai World Championship.

The three-time winner this season on the European Tour pulled out of the Mission Hills World Cup two weeks ago and last week's Nedbank Golf Challenge with the injury. On Tuesday, he did not participate in the pro-am in Dubai, choosing to limit his work to shortgame practice.

"The neck is not good and I'm not that hopeful," he said, according to Sky Sports.

With the offseason in sight, Bjorn will look to strengthen his neck with training.

"It's getting better, but I want to rest it as much as I can and after this week I'll start rehab - the stronger I am the less chance there will be of it recurring."
