Bradley appreciates Norman's Presidents Cup support

Keegan Bradley appreciates what International Presidents Cup captain Greg Norman meant when the Aussie said he would have selected the PGA champion over 14-time major winner Tiger Woods.

“It’s kind of a touchy subject. I appreciate – he obviously has a lot of faith in me which I really appreciate. Greg Norman is a great guy,” Bradley said Monday ahead of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.

Norman made his declaration in a press teleconference to announce the field for his Franklin Templeton Shootout.

'I can understand the name of a Tiger Woods and his history of what he's done on the golf course,' Norman said. 'But I pick the guys who I think are ready to get in there and play and have performed to the highest levels leading up to it.'

Regarding Bradley, Norman added: 'If I was in his shoes, I would feel like I got gut-checked a little bit. He's a young guy. He likes the Presidents Cup. He loves the idea of playing for his country, and he's not. So I feel for him.'

The twice victorious rookie, however, remained diplomatic with respect to the choice U.S. captain Fred Couples made to select Woods and FedEx Cup winner Bill Haas over him.

“I think that Freddie had a really tough decision, and he did what he thought was best for the team. So I hope to be on a Presidents Cup team, Ryder Cup teams to come, so hopefully it wasn’t that big of a deal for me,” Bradley said.
