Creamer makes detour to Japan on LPGAs Asian Swing

Paula Creamer is the highest ranked player who isn’t in the field at this week’s Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia event, but she’s looking to win her third Asian title just the same.

Creamer, No. 11 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, is scheduled to tee it up this week at the Masters GC Ladies on the Japan LPGA Tour. She won the event in 2005 and has played it every year since. It’s one of two tournaments she’s won in Japan, where she’s quite popular.

Creamer plans to re-join the LPGA next week at the Hana Bank Championship in Incheon, South Korea. She’ll take a week off before heading down to Mexico to play the Lorena Ochoa Invitational and will finish up the season at the LPGA Tour Championship in Orlando in December.
