Discussion: Should HOF use stricter criteria for qualification?

On Wednesday, the World Golf Hall of Fame announced that Fred Couples would become its latest inductee in 2013. Couples won 15 tournaments during his PGA Tour career, including the 1992 Masters and The Players in both 1984 and 1996, and played on five different U.S. Ryder Cup squads.
Currently, PGA Tour players are inducted into the Hall if they receive 65-percent support from the Tour's voting body or if they are the highest vote-getter over 50 percent. They become eligible for the annual vote once they meet a few baseline criteria:
• Minimum 40 years old
• PGA Tour member for at least 10 years
• 10 PGA Tour wins OR 2 majors OR The Players victories
Is this the best system for choosing new members for the WGHOF? Or would a stricter, more quantitative set of criteria (similar to the one used for LPGA inductees) better identify the game's greats? Share your thoughts and opinions below.
