KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Before his victory at last month’s British Open Ernie Els planned to stay with his caddie-by-committee plan, rotating between his longtime looper Ricci Roberts and Dan Quinn.
But following the South African’s victory at Lytham, Team Big Easy met and decided to deviate from the original plan. Roberts is back on the bag this week, replacing Quinn who caddied at the Canadian Open and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
“We decided to bring Ricci back here for the PGA and probably through the FedEx (Cup playoffs),” Els said. “I think Ricci earned his spot here for the PGA this week.”
The plan is for Quinn to caddie for Els later this year at the Frys.com Open and in Asia to close the season.
