FORT WORTH, Texas – However things play out this weekend for Jason Dufner, who is pacing the field at Colonial through 36 holes and closing in on his third PGA Tour victory in his last four starts, the next few weeks are going to be eventful.

Dufner plans to fly from Fort Worth on Sunday night to Los Angeles where he will serve as a volunteer assistant coach for Auburn University’s men’s golf team at the NCAA Division I Championship.
His next scheduled start after Colonial will be the U.S. Open, arriving at The Olympic Club on the Thursday before the championship for an extra few days of practice like he did this year at Augusta National and before last year’ PGA Championship.
“It won’t be as much as Augusta,” said Dufner, who played 81 practice holes to prepare for this year’s Masters, “but I’ve never played Olympic before.”
Dufner will take four weeks off between the U.S. Open and British Open during which he plans to take a long-overdue honeymoon with his wife – Amanda, whom he married after his first Tour victory last month in New Orleans – in the Bahamas.
