He Said/She Said: Two views of Tiger's future

Everyone else has taken their shots at predicting Tiger Woods’ future, so it’s only fitting The Golf Guy and “Birdie” Bailey Mosier take a stab at it, too. The difference being, we coupled the conventional questions with some slightly off-color topics, too.

Will Tiger ever win again? I told myself a long time ago that I should never ever, ever never, never ever, ever … doubt Tiger Woods when it comes to the golf course … and winning. And like my usual dumb self, I am now doubting Tiger winning. Several regular events? Maybe. Jack’s Golden 18? Not a chance.

Will Tiger remarry? Absolute certainty. Do you understand the sheer number of gorgeous women willing to do anything to hook up and marry Tiger? I figure the number is somewhere near the amount of golf balls it would take to fill up the Grand Canyon.  Expect to see a woman on Tiger’s arm at the next Ryder Cup. If … DL3 picks him.

Will Tiger ever become a TV announcer? Tiger behind the mic for TV is like me being in front of the camera for a GQ photo shoot. Not good for anyone.

Will his life be made into a full-length feature film?  The real question is who is going to get to it first? Golf Channel? ESPN Films? HBO? Cinemax? If it’s Cinemax I will DVR it. (And we aren't counting the utterly forgettable 1998 release of 'The Tiger Woods Story.')

Will Tiger ever win again? Unequivocally, without reservation, yes. He has 71 PGA Tour victories and has claimed 97 titles worldwide. The man clearly knows how to win. I think he can muster at least one more. Breaking Jack’s record is a different story. The last major championship Tiger won without difficulty was in 2007 at Southern Hills, but even that was a mere two-stroke victory over Woody Austin, with Ernie Els one more shot back. There’s no denying his win at the 2008 U.S. Open over Rocco Mediate was the stuff of greatness, but it was a battle. There was nothing easy about it. In five years and 20 majors, Woods won only one major easily. So will a Sean Foley swing change, a muddled mind, an aging and ailing body and the Rory and Co. era allow for another five majors out of Tiger Woods? Not likely.

Will Tiger remarry? Absolutely he will. At least one more time. To whom, when he’ll remarry and how long that union will last … that I don’t know. But one thing I can be certain of … a prenup will be in the mix.

Will Tiger ever become a TV announcer? I can’t see this happening. Golf is an individual and selfish game that Woods was has been born and bred into. Golf and the TV world are two completely different animals. In TV, you have to rely on others to get the job done. Without even speaking to his ability to talk on camera or his knowledge of the game, I can’t see Tiger working in TV because Tiger Woods answers only to himself.

Will his life be made into a full-length feature film? The highest-grossing athlete of all time? One of the most freakishly talented golfers of all time? One of the biggest scandals – certainly in golf if not in sport – of all time? The potential to break the most highly sought-after record in golf? I’m no playwright, but that spells box-office hit where I come from.
