SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – This Solheim Cup hasn’t even started but the dates for the 2011 event were announced Wednesday at Rich Harvest Farms. The 2011 matches at Killeen Castle in Ireland will be Sept. 23-25, the Ladies European Tour announced.
Although it hasn’t been decided yet, safe money would be on Meg Mallon being the U.S. captain because of her proud Irish heritage. It’d be too early to guess on a European captain, as no one from Ireland comes to mind, but Alison Nicholas would be a good choice if deemed successful here this week.
