Jungle Bird revealed, apologizes to Simpson

The identity of "Jungle Bird," the man who interrupted the trophy presentation at last week's U.S. Open, has been revealed.
Englishman Andrew Dudley, 40, was yanked off the 18th green by U.S. Golf Association executive director Mike Davis as he was making bird calls amid an interview conducted with champion Webb Simpson by NBC Sports' Bob Costas.
Local authorities detained Dudley and took him to a station, but he was later released. Dudley said the USGA did not press charges.
"The San Francisco police arrested me and took me to the station, but when they got there, the guys were all really cool because they were making bird noises," Dudley said to CNN. "They had already been watching on YouTube and the Internet."
Little planning went into the stunt, Dudley said. He blended in with members of the media during the setup for the trophy presentation, then decided to make his move.
Dudley offered an apology to Simpson, but remains committed to his cause.
"I wish to apologize to Mr. Simpson in case I took any of the special moments away," he said, "but obviously the message I'm trying to get across is to try to get people to stop deforestation."
