Kaymer, too, looking forward to Tiger showdown

Martin Kaymer is looking forward to a showdown with Tiger Woods the next time the 14-time major winner competes.

'What's going to happen next year, maybe we'll see it on Sunday afternoon in Abu Dhabi if and when we face each other,' Kaymer said Tuesday at the Dubai World Championship.

Woods will not play again until the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January, where the German is the defending champion. Kaymer has won three of the last four times he has played in the emirate.

'Well, I don't mind it. It would be nice. I know the place. He doesn't,' Kaymer said, half-jokingly.

'I played with him a few times in the past. It would be nice to play against the best player whoever played the game in their top form and see if you can beat them.'

After a stint in Dubai, Woods will show up in Abu Dhabi for the first time next month. He will be coming off of a win in his Chevron World Challenge, which Kaymer believes is good for the sport.

'It's good for us. He did a lot for the sport and the status that golf has in the world, we have to be very thankful for that, and I think every player appreciates all of his help the last few years,' he said.
