Jiyai Shin, Na Yeon Choi, Eun Hee Ji and many of golf’s best on the LPGA were made in South Korea. Why is that? Are they that much more talented? Not really. But the Korean culture does not accept less than excellence in school, playing the cello and certainly not in golf.
The South Korean players are unassuming off the course and killers on it. How can they shy away from eye contact then rip your heart out? Who knows. I do know this though. We haven't had a Player of the Year since Beth Daniel in 1994.
