Nine amateurs, including top-ranked Lydia Ko, have received an invitation to the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first LPGA major of the year.
Joining Ko in the field will be fellow amateurs Georgia Hall, Alison Lee, Doris Chen, Lindy Duncan, Camilla Hedberg, Isabelle Lendl, Stephanie Meadow and Ashlan Ramsey. The event will be held April 4-7 at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
“Providing the future stars of women’s golf the chance to play alongside their professional heroes in the first major championship of the year has always been a point of pride for the Kraft Nabisco Championship,” said tournament chairman David Blake-Thomas. “We are proud to be able to provide these great young players from around the world with this important step in their careers, and look forward to joining golf fans in cheering them on.”
Ko, who turns 16 in April, is the most established of the group. Last year, she became the youngest-ever winner on the LPGA tour when she broke through at the CN Canadian Women’s Open.
