Leftys late-round dance

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – TPC Sawgrass' closing three holes are not as feared as Quail Hollow's, which have ranked as the toughest on Tour six of the last seven years, but Phil Mickelson didn't have a lot of room for mistakes.

Lingering at 2 under for all of a long, hot day, Lefty birdied the 16th hole to move two shots clear of the cut. Even better, Mickelson hit his tee shot at No. 17 to 26 feet and two-putted par.
