Mahan surges into top five in world rankings

Hunter Mahan is now No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking after earning his second win of the year at the Shell Houston Open. Mahan moved up 10 places to crack the top five for the first time in his career.
Luke Donald heads into the Masters at No. 1, leading Rory McIlroy by 11 points. Lee Westwood is third, Steve Stricker is No. 5, with Martin Kaymer falling to sixth. It is Kaymer's lowest ranking since Aug. 8, 2010.
Tiger Woods is seventh, while Masters champion Charl Schwartzel is No. 8, and Justin Rose completes the Sean Foley sandwich at ninth.
Houston runner-up Carl Pettersson improved 27 places to No. 68. Third-place finisher Louis Oosthuizen moved up 11 spots to 27th.
Brian Davis, who finished T-4 in Houston, moved up 22 places to No. 97. Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley, each T-4 with Davis, both moved up a spot to 15th and 19th, respectively.
After winning the Sicilian Open, his first European Tour victory, Thorbjorn Olesen moved up 54 places to No. 100.
