From manic Monday to ruby Tuesday

CROMWELL, CONN. – The practice range filled quickly Tuesday morning at TPC River Highlands for this week’s Travelers Championship. You did know it was the Travelers and not the U.S. Open that was scheduled to be played this week?

Nathan Grube, the Travelers’ affable tournament director, said he watched Monday’s Open finish and that despite ever-present delays at Bethpage, everything was on schedule at River Highlands.

“It really didn’t impact us,” said Grube, who added that instead of sending two buses to shuttle the 42 players from Bethpage to Cromwell on Friday and Sunday he sent five waves of cars. “If it would have  gone to Tuesday then we would have had some issues.”

If it would have gone to Tuesday everybody would have had some issues.
