McIlroy part of all-Irish threesome in Memphis

Rory McIlroy

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy will try to rebound from three consecutive missed cuts with an all-Irish grouping at the FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tenn.

McIlroy will be grouped with Graeme McDowell and Padraig Harrington at TPC Southwind. They tee off from the 10th hole at 7:27 a.m. local time on Thursday.

A group later at 7:36 a.m. on the same tee, Dustin Johnson makes his Memphis debut with last year's winner Harrison Frazar and Justin Leonard.

Tee times: First round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic

Zach Johnson is arguably the PGA Tour's hottest player in the last month. The Colonial winner and runner-up at The Players Championship starts at 12:36 p.m. from the first tee with Phoenix winner Kyle Stanley and 2010 Memphis playoff runner-up Robert Garrigus.

Johnson's group is preceded by a group featuring Ryder Cup captain and U.S. Open qualifier, Davis Love III. Love playes with two-time (2003, '04) Memphis winner David Toms and 2009 winner Brian Gay. They start at 12:27 p.m. from the first.

Spencer Levin is No. 61 in the Official World Golf Ranking and must improve at least one spot this week to gain an exemption into next week's U.S. Open. He begins the quest with Jeff Overton and Vaughn Taylor at 8:12 a.m. from the first tee.

John Daly makes his first PGA Tour start since a T-41 at Colonial. He has made the cut in three of four starts this season. He is joined by Rich Beem and John Merrick at 12:54 p.m. from No. 1.
