McIlroy to be guest at White House dinner

Nine months after winning the U.S. Open at Congressional, Rory McIlroy will be in the nation's capital on Wednesday night to have dinner at the White House.

On his Facebook page, McIlroy said he will be dining at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. According to the Daily Mail, the world No. 1 will be one of approximately 1,000 guests in attendances for a state dinner with President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

McIlroy will take the next three weeks off from tournament competition as he prepares for the Masters, including practice at The Bear's Club in Jupiter, Fla., ahead of a trip to Augusta National before the year's first major.
