Caddie carousel: New week, new looper for Garcia

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Sergio Garcia is apparently living by the old mantra, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
One week after employing local caddie David Faircloth while winning in Greensboro, Garcia will again go through untraditional means by using a CBS spotter named Wayne Richardson on the bag at this week’s Barclays tournament.
“That's a good friend of mine,” he explained. “He's not a professional caddie, but I don't feel like I need that at the moment. I'm probably just going to do my own thing until the end of the year, and then at the end of the year I'll decide what's best for me.”
Last week, Faircloth was charged with carrying the bag and keeping the clubs clean; he didn’t even carry a yardage book for Garcia.
The strategy may involve Garcia going through untraditional means for the upcoming Ryder Cup, as well.
“Same thing. Doesn't change anything,” he said when asked if the current strategy would carry over to Medinah next month.
However, when queried about whether he would potentially use a local caddie at the event, he was more evasive, only allowing, “No. I'll see who I use.”
