Norman proud of Aussies

AUGUSTA, Ga. – While the Australians came up short in a bid to break through and claim the first Masters title for their country, they put on a terrific show Sunday for Aussie golf fans.

Count Greg Norman in that mix.

He made sure the trio knew how proud he was after Adam Scott shot 67, Jason Day 68 and Geoff Ogilvy 67 to make runs at winning.

'I just got off the phone with Greg,' Day said as he met with reporters. 'He's very proud of us. He's very proud of what we did out there and how we played.'

Scott and Day tied for second, Ogilvy tied for fourth.

Asked what he thought it must have been like back in his homeland, Scott said: “It would have made the Masters exciting for them to have three guys contending. It's been a while since we've had that, I guess. I'm sure everybody would have been up watching. An incredibly exciting finish to the Masters.”
