For the second half of the 1980s, Seve Ballesteros and Greg Norman traded the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking nine times.
Friday on 'Morning Drive,' Norman compared his old foe with current Masters champion Bubba Watson.
'(Seve) was coming out of the trees, all over the place. You never knew where it was going,' Norman said. 'One of the toughest players I ever played against was Seve because you didn't know what he was going to shoot that day. He'd be moving galleries 40 yards right of the fairway, 40 yards left of the fairway.'
The unconventional style Ballesteros used to win bred a false sense of security in many of his challengers.
'You couldn't fall into the trap of thinking sometimes he was playing like a 10-handicapper, because at the end of the day, he would come out and kick your butt,' Norman said.
The Shark lauded the feel with which Watson plays, suggesting he not change a thing about his game.
'I love Bubba. He's a breath of fresh air. I love the way he plays golf,' he said. 'The guy has an incredible ability to see shots few players can.'
