Former world No. 1 Lorena Ochoa shot an even-par 70 to close a rare tournament appearance tying for 22nd Sunday at the Ladies Lacoste Open in France.
Ochoa, who says she has no plans to return to the game as a full-time player, will be back in action in five weeks as a player and a host at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico, in an LPGA event.
Ochoa, 30, has a clothing deal with Lacoste and played at the request of the company. She played with her 9-month-old son, Pedro, at the event. She says family and her foundation remain priorities, and she plays most of her golf for charitable causes.
Australian Stacey Keating won the Lacoste Ladies Open, her second straight Ladies European Tour title. Ochoa finished 13 shots back.
Afterward, she told reporters, “I am happy. It was really a good week. I did make a few mistakes and had trouble a little bit on the greens. I was frustrated today, you know, I have to say that, but at the same time, I need to be happy. I am here just to enjoy it. This is more like an exhibition for me.”
