CHASKA, Minn. – I watched Padraig Harrington in his news conference at the PGA Championship and he had interesting comments regarding being put on the clock during the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Harrington said ultimately he didn't handle himself well which probably led to his 16th hole mess. But he made it a point to say it would have been better for him and Woods to be "clocked" earlier.
Count me among those who think slow play is definitely an issue. And Harrington's not among the fast players on Tour. BUT... I totally agree with Harrington. Put on the clock at the 16th? As perhaps the year's best drama is playing out? C'mon. At that point, who cares, let em' play!
We can only hope this week's PGA gives us another chance at that type of unpredictable finish when the leaders hit No. 16 on Sunday at Hazeltine.
