He may have been the best player in the world for three days at Medinah, but now that the 39th Ryder Cup is over, Ian Poulter still checked in at No. 26 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings released Monday.
In fact, the top 8 remained in the world unchanged from last week: No. 1 Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson, respectively.
Brandt Snedeker (now No. 9) and Jason Dufner (No. 10) flip-flopped spots in the rankings to fill out the rest of the top 10. They were among eight players in the top 30 whose ranking fluctuated from last week; none, however, changed more than one spot.
That’s no surprise, of course – the Ryder Cup does not award world ranking points.
This week’s events include the PGA Tour’s Fall Series opener, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, and the European Tour’s Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews.
