You see them in front of the camera reporting golf scores and news, but here's a quick look at some of Golf Channel's on-air talent behind closed doors. This week it's Win McMurry. McMurry joined Golf Channel in 2010. She reports for "Golf Central," serves as a contributor on the “Grey Goose 19th Hole,” hosts a web-exclusive called "Gone With the Win." McMurry graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Favorite broadcaster? I grew up admiring Katie Couric on the "Today Show." She was always authentic, honest, and real on air. I love her infectious energy and charisma but also her ability to get serious and ask tough questions while maintaining respect for her interviewee. I'm also a big fan of Jim Nantz.
Favorite all-time movie (comedy and drama)? "Casablanca" and "Father of the Bride" with Steve Martin
Dream golfing vacation? I'd love to take a trip to play golf in Scotland and Ireland. That's on my list. But going to Pebble Beach and playing the courses around the Monterrey Peninsula is my favorite golf vacation. It's majestic, spiritual, and a pure golf oasis.
What is the hardest thing about being a golf broadcaster? There are long days and weeks spent covering golf, but that goes with any job, and when you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work. It's just another beautiful day.
Favorite sandwich/food? Mexican food. I love tacos, fajitas, guacamole, you name it. I could seriously eat Mexican food every day, maybe every meal.
Favorite word to slip into a broadcast? I have an inside joke with a friend who loves it when I say "66." Every chance I have to say that score I think of my friend and try to hold back a smile.
Favorite personal blooper reel moment? My earring fell off – and down the front of my blouse – during an interview with Ian Poulter at the windy U.S. Open at Pebble Beach in 2010. It was entertaining to us both as we tried to hold it together and finish the interview without bursting out laughing at my "wardrobe malfunction."
Dream foursome? Michael Jordan, Fred Couples and a best friend with whom to share the day and experience
What is a little-known secret about doing TV? Just stay in the moment!
Funniest co-worker at Golf channel? Charlie Rymer. There are plenty of laughs around the office, but he is the constant source above all others.
