Adcock, a 58-year-old Texan, was in a tight battle with Larry Dalton of Scarsdale, N.Y. Adcock led by one entering the par-3 17th and made birdie while Dalton carded bogey. The two-shot swing increased Adcock's advantage to three heading to the final hole.
'It was a battle,' Adcock said. 'It all played out on 17.'
Adcock doubled the final hole and Dalton made bogey, giving the former a two-shot triumph. Adcock has three local wins and one major [Texas Open Major] to go along with his prized Senior National Championship crown.
Burns, meanwhile, had a much easier time Friday. His closing 12-over 84 was the low round of the day in his flight by four shots and was good enough for an 11-stroke victory over three others.
The 53-year-old Scotland native who now resides in Florida began the final round seven shots back of Clyde Foster. But Foster shot 32-over 104, his worst score of the week, to finish 13 back in sixth place.
