Looking for back-to-back PGA TOUR wins, Phil Mickelson chipped in for birdie on his final hole of the day to take a one shot lead in the Northern Trust Open. 30 players did not finish Thursday. They'll be out early this morning to complete the 1st round.
- Daly Hurting
John Daly withdrew from the Avantha Masters after hitting a tree root during his 2nd shot on the 9th hole. Daly tweeted his right elbow "snapped" and posted a picture of his arm in a cast. He will get X-Rays to determine the damage.
- Casey Can't Go
Paul Casey's injured shoulder has not healed enough for him to play in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. World number 66 George Coetzee will take his place.
- Tseng Shines
World number 1 Yani Tseng eagled her last hole and added 7 more birdies in her 2nd round 65 at the Honda LPGA Thailand.
