- Cut Watch
For the second straight week Tiger Woods is on cut watch after a 1st round 2-over-par 74 in THE PLAYERS. He has never missed the cut in two consecutive starts as a pro on the PGA TOUR.
- Putting Poults
Ian Poulter had 9 one-putt greens in the 1st round at TPC Sawgrass. He's 7-under par and is tied for the lead with Martin Laird.
- Slow Start
Tiger Woods isn't the only star to struggle in the first round. Top-ranked Rory McIlroy and World #2 Luke Donald are even par. World #3 Lee Westwood is one-under and World #5 Hunter Mahan is two-over-par.
- Flying Solo
Brian Harman made his first start in THE PLAYERS all by himself. In a rare situation, D.A. Points withdrew on the first tee with back spasms after he was announced. Harman was in the clubhouse and ended up shooting a one-over 73 during his solo round.
