Rory McIlroy is the top story this week at Doral in his opinion because of his becoming World #1 but it is a difficult decision to make because there are so many great stories. The way that Rory plays today and this week is very important because we will get an idea of how he is responding to the pressure that comes with becoming World #1.
Phil Mickelson made what was clearly a joke about Tiger Woods when he said that he hoped Tiger learned from Phil’s 64 at Pebble Beach. That will certainly motivate Tiger because he is motivated by everything.
He wants to watch Sergio Garcia today as he is with Nick Watney and Tiger Woods and it has been great to see Sergio playing well again and he seems much happier on the course than he has been in a long time. He is playing well in 2012 and he thinks that he could have a great performance this week.
Dustin Johnson is someone who has gotten Terry’s attention as someone who can contend this week. D.J. has been playing very well lately and has played well at Doral but more than that, he seems to be really close to getting his game back to a very high level after his knee surgery late last year.
