- Open Countdown
The first tee shots in the 112th U.S. Open will be struck at 10AM ET on the 9th tee. The Lake Course at The Olympic Club is hosting its 5th U.S. Open this week.
- Golden Honor
The Golden Bear will live on forever at the U.S. Open. The USGA announced Wednesday the gold medal awarded to the U.S. Open Champion will now be called the Jack Nicklaus Medal.
- Alvaro's Ace
Alvaro Quiros showed his length doesn't come without some touch. He made a hole-in-one on the 7th hole which is a 288-yard par 4. Quiros says he used a 9.5 degree driver to accomplish the rare feat.
- Batter Up
Dustin Johnson drove his ball out of AT&T Park and into McCovey Cove on Wednesday and hours later Giants pitcher Matt Cain threw the 22nd perfect game in MLB history in a 10-0 Giants win over the Houston Astros.
