18-year-old Matteo Manassero is among 11 players who qualified for the U.S. Open in Surrey, England yesterday. Manassero finished in a tie for 54th place last year at Congressional.
- Clarke Out
Reigning Open Champion Darren Clarke will NOT be at Olympic Club in 3 weeks. He withdrew from the U.S. Open to recover from an injured groin. He plans on returning June 28th for the Irish Open.
- NCAA Today
The 2012 NCAA Men's Golf Championship begins later this morning at historic Riviera Country Club. 30 teams are in the field. The first three rounds are stroke play to determine an individual champion and the top 8 teams. The final three days will be match play to determine the team champion.
- Padre Phil?
San Diego native Phil Mickelson may be able to buy his hometown baseball team. Phil joined one of five groups trying to buy the San Diego Padres.
