European Tour Analyst Warren Humphries is in Germany this week for coverage of the BMW International Open. A number of players including Martin Kaymer and Alvaro Quiros come to Germany after playing the U.S. Open and while travel has made this week challenging, the fact that the course is completely different from The Olympic Club is also difficult. The pressure of a Major Championship takes a lot of energy out of any player and the ones who played in the U.S. Open last week will face a lot of challenges in Germany.

It has been almost two years since Martin Kaymer’s win in the 2010 PGA Championship and Humphries feels that Kaymer is beginning to return to normal after he tried to switch from hitting a fade to a draw. Those efforts succeeded in throwing Kaymer off of his game but after some hard work, it appears that he closer to neutral again and while his T15 in the U.S. Open was good, it was not as great as he has done in the past but Humphries is optimistic about Kaymer right now.

When Sergio Garcia makes controversial remarks in the United States, the European media is in an awkward position because they love Sergio and feel that he is remarkably talented but he has never won a Major. Sergio is unlike most other Champion players in that he actually speaks his mind when things are going badly as well as when things are going well. Many feel that it would help Sergio if he could figure out how to take more positives than negatives out of these tough tournaments and if he could convince himself that he is close to winning a Major, he may actually get it done.
