Hultman 54-Hole Leader in Canadian Event

Canadian Tour-LargeBRIMLEY, Mich. -- Anders Hultman managed only a 1-over 73 on Saturday, but it was enough to maintain the lead through three rounds of the Bay Mills Open Players Championship. Hultman completed 54 holes at 8-under-par 208.
Michael Harris made up four strokes on Hultman as he carded a 4-under 68 to move to 7-under-par 209. Paul Danielson posted a 70 to take over third place at minus-6. Mike Grob struggled to a 75 to come in one stroke further back at minus-5.
The second and third rounds were both completed on Saturday. The completion of the second round was forced to Saturday morning after a two-hour fog delay early Friday eventually forced the suspension of play for the night. The third round was finished despite a weather delay during that round.
The weather delay came just as Hultman's group was teeing off the first hole. He struggled once play returned as he bogeyed the first. He later stumbled to back-to-back bogeys from the fifth to fall back to minus-6 on the Wild Bluff Golf Course at Bay Mills Resort & Casinos.
The Swede got one stroke back with a birdie on No. 9, a hole that he has played at 4 under for the week. Hultman got back to 8 under with a birdie on the par-5 11th.
Hultman, who won the 2003 Canadian Tour Classic, tripped to another bogey on the 15th. He quickly got that stroke back with a birdie on 16. He gave another stroke back on 17, but birdied the last to take the out-right lead into the final round.
'I'm not sure what happened out there, I just wasn't in the proper frame of mind to try to win a golf tournament,' said Hultman. 'I'm really happy I still have a chance to take this thing home. I need to change something for tomorrow. The mind set just wasn't right.'
Will Yanagisawa fired a 5-under 67 Saturday. He moved to 4-under-par 212 and was tied for fifth with Matt McQuillan, Rob Oppenheim, Peter Tomasulo and Jon Turcott. Ryan Ellis is one stroke further back at minus-3.
