LAS VEGAS -- There's golf and then there's tournament golf, and Walters Golf in Las Vegas has some intriguing events coming up for every kind of player and mood.
The Walters Golf Signature Tournaments start this Memorial Day weekend with a two-day ParAm event, continues on Father's Day with a two-person tourney and concludes with a British Open celebration event at Royal Links Golf Club. The new events build on the success of some previous tournaments, including a successful Par-Am event last winter.
"Due to the overwhelming success of our recent tournament and the suggestions of the players, we have created two new tournaments and added an extra Par-Am event -- all of which are extremely affordable, exciting and provide tons of extra value for the players," said Josh Hill, director of marketing for Walters Golf.
Memorial Day Par-Am
The Memorial Day Par-Am (May 26-28) is now a two-day event instead of one day. Guests get to stay at the MGM Grand Resort and play two rounds of golf at Royal Links Golf Club. The best part, perhaps, is that each team gets a special caddie called a Parmate, which differ from regular caddies in several significant ways, not the least of which is appearance. These beautiful women keep the mood light and the golf festive, plus they provide the usual services of yardage, keeping the clubs clean and generally helping the players get around the course.
Cost is $549 per player ($349 without accommodations), and it includes two nights at the MGM Grand Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, the services of a Parmate for each foursome on each day of golf, transportation to and from Royal Links every day, a barbecue lunch prior to the tournament, drink vouchers, group photo, welcome gifts, prizes, reception after the tournament, and VIP entrance to Wet Republic at the MGM after golf.

"The courses are in the best condition of the year, and the weather will be great in May for the Par-Am event," Hill said.
A great way to spend Father's Day
The Father's Day Weekend Las Vegas Men's 2-Person Shootout is a really cool event. It's a two-person scramble set for the weekend of June 16-17 at Royal Links and Desert Pines Golf Club, the same time as the U.S. Open.
The cost is only $219 per team, and it includes complimentary club rentals, lunch at Desert Pines during the final round, tournament prizes and discounted rates on Las Vegas resort accommodations.

Experiencing the British Open at Royal Links
And if you like the British Open, then the first Royal Open is your event. The Royal Open will take place at Royal Links Golf Club the weekend of July 21-22, coinciding with the third and fourth rounds of this year's British Open at Royal Lytham and St. Annes.
Participants will be able to experience the feel of the Open through holes that are reminiscent of holes from the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie, Turnberry, Prestwick and Royal Lytham, among others.
The tournament also includes three nights at the MGM Grand resort, Callaway Razr X rental clubs for those who need them, a welcome gift, barbecue lunch on the final days and complimentary caddies. Players will be announced on the first and 10th tees.
Entry fee is $399 per person based on double occupancy, or if you don't need accommodations, it's $249. The field is limited to the first 144 players.

"What's unique about the Walters Golf Signature Tournaments is that you're playing against players from all over the country, providing great business networking opportunities for the participants," Hill said.
