For what’s dubbed the “Fall Escape and Play” package, rates start at $199 per person and include unlimited golf on PGA National’s Palmer, Squire, Haig and Estates courses. For an extra $100 golfers can try their hand at the demanding Champion course, which features the infamous three-hole Bear Trap – one of the most feared stretches of holes on PGA Tour.
The package also includes a complimentary golf clinic at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, daily breakfast at the Citrus Tree café and two-for-one cocktails at the iBar, the resort’s swanky new lobby bar.
If you’ve never been to PGA National – or it’s been a while – you’ll be impressed by a few upgrades. Firstly, the resort recently received a $65 million renovation that has elevated the entire property to modern luxury. The Palmer course also has been renovated and now features smoother greens, tougher bunkers and overall much-improved conditions.
If you’re looking to keep your golf trip inexpensive, rounds on the Palmer and Squire would suffice, though a Palmer-Champion combo would turn a good golf trip into a great one.
With the spa receiving a facelift, and a luxurious new pool constructed, PGA National has gone beyond golf to elevate itself to one of the premiere south Florida golf resorts.
