Wyndham Clark said he prevented the wheels from coming off completely during his final round at Shinnecock Hills by replacing the negative comments he heard from fans with positive thoughts. Clark, who held on to win the 126th U,S. Open, admitted that it was obvious to him who the crowd was rooting for as his lead was beginning to dwindle.
